~The Beta Days~

The Beta Days were back in 2010, when selected jammers were picked to be apart of the beta, or testing period. Then, there was only a non-member option and everything was free.

Let's start off by looking at the dens and the den items you could've had back in the Beta Days.

Let's just say, these houses were HUGE! They were complete with various things such as ladders, bridges, and lots of levels to decorate with lots of items! Back then, there was only one type of den, so you couldn't change them at the time of course, haha!

Back then, there were many items sold.
Shown below, are the items that were in the stores back then. Some of the items shown are still in the store today, but some are highly unlikely to ever be sold in the store again. Believe it or not, there are actually more items that were sold back in the beta days now then there are beta items that aren't sold today.

Now, onto clothing.

Here is the Clothing Menu in the beta days:

There were no pets and pet salon back then, so the "clear" button replaced that. The clear button was used to clear all the items that you were wearing currently and it put them back in your inventory. There was a much less amount of color options back then as well. Also, the eye animation on the right side above the word "pattern" is different than the one we have today.

 Now here's a little story for you. This one is truly amazing and shows you how much National Geographic really cares about it's jammers.
Once there was a little girl named Cami. She was diagnosed with Luekemia, a type of cancer in the blood or bone marrow that creates an increase of very young white blood cells. Before Cami was introduced to the world, her dad picked her out a toy frog. Cami named her new toy Froggy and she cared for it every night by keeping it next to her while she slept. Cami's dad, actually worked for Smart Bomb, so he released it during the beta stages in honor of Cami.

Back in the Beta Days, areas in Jamaa were very different.
  For instance, Sarepia Forest infact was not a forest. It was just Sarepia.

There were no slides, just mushrooms ^-^.
Also, the Sol Arcade wasn't a thing back in the Beta Days either, it was just the good 'ol Medical Center!

Above is a picture of the old Medical Center. The Pillow Room today replaced the Medical Center.

Here is what the outside looked like. There are boxes with the Medical Center logo on it, as well as a little glowing paw, sort of like the suggestion coins we have today.

Did you know, instead of the Jammer Central board we have today, there was a green gem or stone replacing it? In my opinion, I think it was a symbol for something such as the Alphas. In fact, I think it looks really cool!

Back then, there were only six main animals you could pick. Those animals were wolves, pandas, bunnies, koalas, tigers, and monkeys. The animals were for everyone to buy since there were no members.

Above, there is an advertisement for phantoms! These photos are actually of the Jamaa Journal during the first Day of the Phantoms party!
Also on the left, you can see that Alphas played a major part of Jamaa back then. I wonder if they will ever become more important! What do you think?

Now, let's talk about Deleted Items! 

Here is a picture of a beta tiara! The gem at the top is blue instead of red. The item wasn't technically deleted, but very few jammers still have one today.

Here is a picture of the underwater Shell Fins! These fins were actually released in the game Best Dressed but not sold in any of the stores. Very strange :P, perhaps a later release?

Now.. skullys! These are the cheapest item ever sold in Jamaa. The color couldn't be changed, the brown of the band was always brown. And yes, this item was the only beta tail item! (though this looks more like a bracelet..) If the animal you owned didn't have a tail, the Skully would float behind them, how neat! AJHQ decided to delete the Skullys from everybody who ever owned one. There is no verified reason why, but rumors say that they were deleted because they were too scary for some jammers or just glitched a lot.

Now, the login! 

 Once you've clicked play, a new screen popped up for you to sign in or sign up.
Months after, AJHQ released this new background, much more detailed.

Much better, hehehe

Now, the old Crystal Sands:

The new Crystal Sands replaced the old Crystal Sands with a smaller Juice Hut as well as slides, waterfalls, smaller mixtures of plants, the style was changed, and the background volcano wasn't there anymore.
